Artist's Comments

Did this piece for an upcoming Philly Cartoonist Society tribute book called "The Children of the Watchmen". Wanted to do a retro propaganda thing with the characters.

The book will have it's "official" debut on the evening of Friday, Nov. 7th at the Brave New Worlds comic shop in Philly located on 2nd street between Market and Arch. Artists from the book will be there to do signings and sketches, original art and prints from the book will be on display and some for sale.

This and the Dr. Manhattan one are awesome Dave, very neat designs. Nice to see your work around here again.

Sweet heaven, I see the light.
I feel...love and life; sun and shine.
But here in this Hades I cannot touch...
The forbidden angels of love cannot save me.

I see the demons of your hell.
I kiss the angels of your despair.

Dave: How'd you do the "worn" effects on the poster? I love the weathered, crinkled look, and I'd like to use a version of it on my Minutemen piece.
